About Dr. Baynes

Licensed Psychologist, Florida PY10933 • Clinical Neuropsychologist • Founder, Stillwaters Assessment & Neuropsychological Services (SWANS)

Dr. Stephanie Baynes is a Florida-licensed psychologist, clinical neuropsychologist, and founder of Stillwaters Assessment & Neuropsychological Services. She provides comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults, with a focus on helping individuals and families better understand concerns related to attention, learning, autism, memory, mood, anxiety, executive functioning, and complex diagnostic questions. Her approach is integrative, thoughtful, and practical. Rather than focusing on symptoms in isolation, Dr. Baynes considers the full picture — including cognitive, emotional, developmental, medical, educational, and functional factors — to provide clear diagnostic impressions and meaningful recommendations.

Education & Training

Dr. Baynes earned her Doctor of Clinical Psychology degree from George Fox University, an APA-accredited program. She completed postdoctoral training in clinical neuropsychological assessment, with experience evaluating children, adolescents, adults, and older adults across neurodevelopmental, neurocognitive, neurological, psychiatric, and complex diagnostic presentations. Her advanced training has emphasized neuropsychological assessment, brain-behavior relationships, and the many developmental, medical, neurological, psychiatric, and contextual factors that can influence cognitive functioning.

Clinical Expertise

Her clinical background includes assessment experience across private practice, outpatient behavioral health, inpatient and crisis settings, forensic and medico-legal contexts, and high-volume neuropsychological evaluation settings. Before founding Stillwaters, Dr. Baynes provided neuropsychological evaluations for a broad referral base, including neurology, psychiatry, primary care, and surgical providers. She has experience evaluating ADHD, autism spectrum conditions, learning concerns, mild cognitive impairment, dementia, traumatic brain injury, psychotic-spectrum symptoms, mood and anxiety disorders, and cognitive changes related to medical or neurological factors.

Approach to Care

Dr. Baynes founded Stillwaters with a vision of creating an evaluation experience that feels clear, compassionate, and genuinely supportive. She believes that every person deserves to feel heard and understood, and that thoughtful, comprehensive assessment should bring clarity, relief, and direction — not confusion or stress. Her approach is thorough, collaborative, and person-centered. Evaluations integrate clinical interview, standardized testing, records review, diagnostic formulation, and practical recommendations to help patients, families, and referring providers move forward with greater confidence and understanding. Evaluations are offered primarily through secure telehealth across Florida, with hybrid or in-person testing options available in Tarpon Springs when clinically appropriate.

Professional Affiliations & Ongoing Training

Dr. Baynes maintains professional membership in the Florida Psychological Association and the National Academy of Neuropsychology. She also participates in ongoing specialized training relevant to neuropsychological assessment, brain-behavior relationships, cognitive functioning, and complex psychological, neurological, and neurodevelopmental presentations.

Personal Background

Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Baynes enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and two sons. She stays active through CrossFit and values quiet moments with family. The name Stillwaters carries deep personal meaning for Dr. Baynes. Inspired by her family’s ranch, Stillwaters represents a place of connection, steadiness, and renewal. Those same values are woven into the practice: creating a calm, supportive evaluation experience where patients and families can feel heard, understood, and better equipped to move forward.
